TeamNORCA Busch Race 7-23-05
The TeamNORCA racing league held a Busch Series race Saturday night at the Pikes Peak International Raceway. The racing was very good, and luckily I came away with a win. This was the first crash of the night, and it happened fairly early, within the first 10 laps of the race. The 98 car of Dad98 got loose going into turn 2, and the back end came around on him. No one else was involved in the crash.
This was the 2nd caution of the race. The 21 car got into the 4 car coming out of Turn 4, causing the 4 car to spin out. As with all the crashes, none were intentional.
This was the biggest crash of the race, involving 3 cars. The 97 car in particular had a wild ride.
The last 80 laps or so of the race was run completely run under the green flag. The 51 car led for a little bit while the pit stops cycled thru, then I took the lead again for good. There was only 1 other racer on the lead lap, he finished about 25 seconds behind. I must give credit to my fellow competitors, they raced me extremely cleanly, during restarts and when I lapped them and during the entire race. Great race guys!

TeamNORCA Truck Race 7-20-05
Unfortunately the race ended under caution, but the newcomer Jason35 won in his first race at TeamNORCA. Great job Jason!
Here's an example of the close racing that happens at short tracks, everybody did a great job of driving!
Considering it was held at Martinsville, the number of cautions were a little below average, but it certainly wasn't caution free. Here's two screenshots of some accidents.
First things first, here's my league's kickin logo...lol.

Lag
When you are racing online, lag, or as some call it, warp, becomes a factor sometimes due to people's connections. When you are racing, your PC has to send and recieve data constantly for the duration of the race, sometimes some races are as long as 2 hours, so having a perfect no warp connection during those 2 hours are very rare. What causes warp is the quality of your internet connection. Dropped packets of data are what causes cars to shimmer and blink out then re-appear on another part of the race track. Whats so bad about that? Well, when you are racing just feet apart, there is no room for error, on the drivers part or on your connections part. When a car warps, chances are the car will re-appear in a bad place for the other drivers, causing a crash most of the time. Racers on dialup connections are more prone to warp bcause of their low bandwith connections. The picture above demonstrates warp. The driver of the 20 car spun out, then warped, and re-appeared right where u see it, right into the 51 car. Thats a worse case scenario, but you can see why warp is really bad.

Racing Update
Sorry its been so long since ive updated the site, but ive been REALLY busy with the racing community. First things, I got kicked from PVR League because im on dialup, and yea i was ticked. But dats ok, I have a new league, I'm now running with the TeamNORCA league. I run in all their series, Trucks, Busch, and Cup. They're starting new points series, and I'm really stoked about it. It's also the best server I've ever raced on, my pings are usually under 300, pretty good for dialup internet connections. And the RDRL league IROC thing didnt work out too good, had connection problems the 1st race, then my PC's power supply took a crap, so that didnt work out too well. So, until next time, Keep all 4's on the asphalt, and always remember, LEAD, FOLLOW, OR BE ROADKILL.
