Week of Domination

Last week, the 2 points series at TeamNORCA were dominated by one man..errr...kid. The truck series race marked the return of Jason35, who had been absent from races for the weeks previous to Wedsnday's race. It was total annihlation at Infineon, where Jason almost lapped the entire field on his way to the victory.
Saturday wasn't alot different. The 3rd round of the Winter Busch Series was held at the Cleveland Road Course, which is a track carved out of a airport runway. Jason35 won the race, this time by only 8 seconds. He hadn't led the race much until the last few laps, but he again showed who is the master road racer at TeamNORCA.
I have fallen to 8th in points in the truck series segment, but I am only about 32 points out of first. And with this week's race being held at Bristol....it is certain that it will come down to the last race to decide the points segment winner. I still hold the points lead in the Busch Series Winter Edition, and with the next two tracks on the schedule being tracks that I have done well at, I am looking forward to winning the championship in this series...at least I hope I do, LOL.

Last Qualifying Segment Kicks off; Winter Busch Series Round 2

Sorry I havent posted before now, but I find it increasingly difficult to find time to update here, lol theres so many things going on around here.

The first race of the final qualifying segment in the TeamNORCA Tough Trucks series was held last Wedsnday at the Zen Joltis 2004 track. It was an incredible race. It was undoubtedly the most exciting online race I've ever been a part of. Unfortunatly, I wasn't in the running for the win at the end, but oh well thats how life goes lol. The race was won by PRI Kniteryder by a nose.

The 2nd race of the winter Busch Series was held last Saturday at the Mansfield Motor Speedway. It was yet another victory for me, YAHOO!! Its my 2nd win in a row in the series, and thankfully I won it very cleanly, unlike talladega, where i crashed the leader with 3 to go. The next race in the series will be at Cleveland, which is a track that was carved out of airport runways, and it has 0 degrees of banking. I will have a difficult time 3-peating in the wins column this week, as road courses just arent my cup of tea.

Busch Winter Season kicks off

Last night the TeamNORCA Busch Series kicked off its winter series. The track was Talladega 70-80, which has modified INI, so there are no restrictor plates. Since we were running modern busch cars, you can only imagine what it was like to run around there at speeds topping at 247 MPH. Mrmilk and I led most of the race, milk was taken out by the 51 after the 51 had already crashed and was sliding up the track. I thought I was gonna be a victim also, but both 51 and 01 cars went flying over my car. That put me in the lead, which I kept for a while at least. After several crashes, the final restart came with 12 to go. I was in the lead, until the 98 car of Dad0098 and the 321 car of Droctor K drafted by me. I proceeded to pass the 321 back, and was on the rear bumper of the 98 car with 2 to go. We came onto the backstretch, and I had a head of steam going, so I faked to the outside then dove to the inside. It didnt work quite how I wanted it to. When I went to the inside, my front bumper barely clipped the rear bumper of the 98, sending him flying backwards over the rest of the field. I went on to take the caution and the win, but its not how I wanted to win. Sorry again 98, u know i didnt mean it.

End of Segment 2

Well, the TeamNORCA Tough Trucks Series has wrapped up the second points segment, and it was a dandy. The final race was held at IRP_PWF, on a Thursday after the server crashed with 20 to go on Wedsnday night. The race was slugged out between myself and PTR Intimidator. we swapped the lead several times during the race. Intimidator used pit strategy to get ahead of me after the final pit stop, and it proved to be a race winning strategy. He won by 0.55 seconds. I was hot on his bumper but I just couldnt get around him. I also finished 2nd in points, losing the segment by 16 points. Congrats Intimidator!

TeamNORCA Nashville Truck Race

In the end it was Deeman who held off the pack, which was me, Intimidator, and DroctorK. Deeman took a well deserved win, congrats Deeman!
This is definitely not a sight any racer wants to see. As you can see, a truck warped right thru this truck.

The TeamNORCA Truck Series visited the famed music city track, Nashville, for the next-to-last race in the current points segment. The racing was tight all night, with a fantastic green flag finish.

TeamNORCA Update

Welp, theres only 2 races left in the current points segment, and the points are tighter than Dwight Yokem's blue jeans, LOL. Last wednsday the Sky/NORCA Truck Series visited the Evergreen PWF track, for what was one of the biggest wreckfests in TeamNORCA history. After the smoke cleared, PTR Indimidator emerged victorious. The points, well, they are TIGHT!!! First and 9th positions in points are separated by only 80 points! Right now its anybodys point segment to win. Thankfully, I am still the overall points leader in all segments, although I slipped to 3rd place in the current points standings, 22 points behind the leader, Dad0098.

And now a bit of NR2003 news. The US Pits has just released a brand new mod for NR2003, labeled "AD67", it features road racing cars like the Ferrari, Porshe, and Ford GT40. No one knew anything about this mod coming out, and it was QUITE a suprise for all NR2003 racers.

And a bit of personal news. I am the new NASCAR monthly contributor to Auto Sim Sport magazine, which is the worlds only magazine devoted to online simulation racing. You can catch my articles every month by downloading the magazine at www.autosimsport.com

TeamNORCA Truck race 10-26-05

The race winner was PTR Speed. He hung on in a wild and hairy finish. He took home the race prize also, so I'm sure he will be enjoying his DVD player. Good job Speed!
This was the final crash of the race, coming with 2 laps to go. To me it looked like the 7 and 8 trucks got together, causing the crash. About 4 trucks got taken out by the crash;luckily I avoided the crash and came home in 8th position. I am 2 points behind Dad0098 for the points segment lead.
The final restart came with 3 to go. I was 14th, so it was GO time! The field was sluggish on the restart, so I mashed the gas and passed at least 3 trucks by the time I went thru turn 1.
I did not escape crashing either, here I got a one way ticket to the wall from the 89 truck of Superford.
Here the 51 truck of Smartracer claims another victim. Smartracer drove aggresively all night, and at last count, he had sent at least 1/5 of the field into the wall.
Of course, you can't race 4 wide without something giving way. Here is a multi-truck crash after attempting to enter turn 3 four wide.
The racing was wild all night, with 4 wide racing being commonplace. At times it reminded me more of a Talladega race than a Kentucky race!
For once we finally had a realistic Kentucky track to race on, instead of just the repainted Las Vegas track. You had to be careful not to get loose, or you would stir up ALOT of dust in the high groove.

The TeamNORCA Truck Series visited the Kentucky Speedway this Wedsnday for the 5th race in the current points segment. It was the most exciting race of the current points segment by far. A late announcement on Tuesday revealed that the winner of the race would get a RCA Progressive Scan DVD player, so it raised the stakes a tad for this one. The field consisted of 20 drivers.

October Update

The above pic was of the main pack racing back to the finish line at the last caution. Where they crossed the line is where they finished the race. The next 2 photos up show who won the dragrace to the line and the resulting carnage.

Well, it has been quite some time since I last updated, but its not all my fault, LOL. My video card blew up in early October, and it took a week to get a replacement for it. Before I got it tho, I had to reformat my PC again, wiping out everything on my PC yet again, lol. But to get things up to date: TeamNORCA is no longer running a Cup OR Trans Am Series, interest was very low in it, and it has been replaced with a Late Models Series. The Truck and Busch Series are still going, with a tight points race in each series. Here's a few screenshots of some of the racing action in the last truck series race, which was held at Daytona and won by good ole' Rewster97. Good job buddy!

Update!!

Welllll guys sorry its been so long since i last posted here. But anyway time to get caught up on the TeamNORCA racing news. Jason35 won the most recent points segment in the truck series, so he is qualified to race in the chase at the end of the year. A new points segment starts tonight, with the first race being held at I-70 PWF. It will be a shorter segment than the last one, featuring a few PWF tracks and a superspeedway race at Daytona! YAYYYYYYYYYYY!!!

TeamNORCA is also starting the Trans Am series up again, which will feature exciting road course action. I am also sure that Jason will probably whip our asses, LOL.

The Mods of NR2003

And the Nasar Busch Series mod. Since NR2003 only came with the Nextel Cup Series, these mods offer alot of different venues to race at, in many different racing series.
And of course we have our beloved Craftsman Truck Series mod.
The above photo is of the IROC (International Race of Champions) mod. Many leagues run this mod also, as these cars are fun to race.
Heres a shot from the cockpit of a OWR car.
The above pic is of the OWR mod. Modeled after the IndyCar series, this mod offers you the opportunity to race in the Indianapolis 500.
And those high speeds require perfect car control, or else this happens........
AH! Here we go! My favorite NR2003 mod....Trans Am. It features 4 models of cars, Dodge Vipers, Ford Mustangs, Chevy Corvettes, and Jaguars. These cars can go extremely fast, 220+!
The silver 23 car slid across the blue car's hood, causing the 23 car to leave the ground for a split second.
The 2 photos above are of the Ferrari 330 mod. While I personally dont like the mod, it has a small but devout following. Notice the 2 cars behind the green 23 car.
Heres a scene many, many people miss dearly, and that is of that beloved #3 Goodwrench car going around the track and whoopin ass and takin names.
Here I am driving the #3 car, and me and the AI cars are 4 wide coming out of turn 2 at Daytona. Talk about tight racing!
The above pics are of the AeroWar 88 mod. A favorite of many NR2003 racers, there are many leagues than run this mod.
The pic above is of the ARCA REMAX mod. (thats me in the LUCAS car) These cars race at many Nascar Nextel Cup tracks, and since most drivers are inexperienced, terrible crashes sometimes occur, like this past February at Daytona. Several cars went airborne in a 20 car crash.
The above pic is of the OWSC (Open Wheel Sprint Car) mod. Designed for dirt tracks, the AI is awful on asphalt and concrete tracks. However, a human can make the cars turn 13 second laps at Bristol, lol.

I have quite a few mods, all of which I got before iRacing pretty much said they'd sue anyone hosting NR2003 mods. So....i went and took pictures of all my nr2003 mods, and here i will share them. The above picture, is of a ASA mod car. It is similiar to the Hooters Pro Cup cars, but since no one races the ASA mod much I will only post 1 picture of it.

TeamNORCA Truck Series Race 9-7-2005

The race ended under caution, and lo and behold, Mr Spinout himself, couchracer, took the checkered flag. Talk about a comeback! After spinning at least 4 times during the race, couch persisted and nabbed his first victory this season in the truck series. I finished second, and I am currently 3rd in points....rememeber, top 3 in points in each segment qualify for the "Race to the Championship"
After restarting with 4 laps to go, on the first lap of green flag racing, going into turn 3, the 98 truck of Dad098 taps the rear bumper of Jason35's Dodge, sending him into a violent crash.
Here, rewster WAS leading, but spun out and collected Jason35 in the process.
Wrong!! Here he goes and wrecks AGAIN! (We sensing a pattern here perhaps?)
...sending deeman out of control. Looks like couchracer made it thru clean tho right?
Here couchracer eats some serious bumper....
While rew was crashing, couchracer went and wrecked anyway, LOL!
Here was a weird crash. Going into turn 1, rewster97 turned to the right to avoid running over couchracer, and drove right into my truck. It hurt him more than it hurt me, as you can see rewster eating a nice concrete dinner, LOL.
Here's a pic that was taken after I had just led my first lap of the entire season in the truck series.
Here the 98 truck of Dad098 got into the back of the truck driven by Droctor K. During pit stops , Droctor's pit crew cut off his tailgate.
Here was a bad crash...the 25 of couchracer got loose going into turn 1, and spun out, taking 2 trucks with him. None of the trucks involved were seriously damaged.
But it only took 3 or 4 laps for the first crash. Here the number 7 of Deeman goes for a spin.
As you can see, it was a beautiful day for racing under the Arizona sky

The TeamNORCA Craftsman Truck Series visited the Phoenix Motor Speedway for yet another exciting race. Of our 3 racing series, the trucks have provided the most excitement, last week's truck race was not for points but it was a nailbiter of a finish. (Pics coming soon). This week, after recruiting DroctorK, my team qualified 1-2-3 at Phoenix.
