Racing League Tips

Todays's topic is racing leagues. There are a total of about approximately 1,000 racing leagues on the internet, using all different genres of racing games.The majority use Nascar-themed games, some use Formula 1 and IRL games, some use Rally or GTR type road racing games. Some are free, some you must pay a yearly fee to continue racing in the league. Occasionally, there will be an instance in which you pay to drive on one race, but most of the time these races are charity events, with the proceeds going to a worthy cause. But cheapskates don't have to worry, there are plenty of free leagues to choose from, although they may not charge you to race, all of them gladly accept donations for server repair and maintinence. Most leagues don't accept applications from just anybody that comes along, most will have you participate in a try-out race before letting you race in their league. I will try to explain some things you can do to get in a racing league that uses the Nascar Racing 2003 Season simulation.(Due to the fact that I am not very knowledgable in other racing league games) If you want to join a league, sometimes all you have to do is stop in the game's chat lobby and say that you are looking for a league, most of the time someone will respond quickly, as most leagues are always recruiting. Other times, you may have to participate in a public race thats open to anyone, most leagues have recruitment races before their racing schedule starts. Some might call it "preseason thunder" races, but whatever they are called they are all recruitment races one and the same. Here's some tips on how to get noticed: 1. Do not "flame" anybody at any time. A hotheaded racer will not get any attention, except maybe when he gets booted out of the race. 2. Be courteous, give people plenty of room to race, and definitely don't wreck anyone, on purpose or not. The guy that causes a crash in a tryout race never gets invited to join the league. 3. Don't use curse words in your chat, most leagues frown at that. 4. Run a clean race, it doesn't matter if you win the race, chances are if you run a clean race in a professional manner you will most likely get noticed and will get a invitation to join. If you run a clean race and win the race, you are almost certain to get a invitation to join the league. And finally; 5. Practice makes perfect, don't go racing online until you've run plenty of races in offline mode, I cannot stress how important this is, if you run online without practicing first, you won't win and you won't get into a league.
